IF you need to leave your oven door ajar when broiling, leave the TURNING TINES of the Forkula propped on the handle of the WaterBroiler and under the lip of the pan while the pan is still under your broiler OR on YOUR OUTDOOR GRILL to sterilize them after touching raw or partially cooked meat, poultry, or fish. Let 6 inches of the handle protrude outside YOUR OPEN OVEN DOOR or OUTSIDE THE RACK OF YOUR OUTDOOR GRILL.
NOTE: Some older ovens REQUIRE that the oven door be left ajar when Broiling. Many newer ovens REQUIRE that the oven door be CLOSED
when broiling. Check your oven brochure for your oven instructions if you
don't know how your broiler works.
The "poor-heat-conducting" 18/8 Stainless Steel handle will remain cool enough to handle with your bare hand while the turning tines get hot enough to kill bacteria.
Of course, you also have to take other steps to prevent food poisoning. Keep meats COLD. Use hamburger the SAME DAY you buy it or FREEZE hamburger patties for later use.
Don't thaw hamburger at room temperature.
Be sure and thoroughly wash your hands with hot soapy water after handling raw meat and packaging so you do not cross-contaminate your other food. Better yet, use those inexpensive
plastic disposable gloves when handling raw meat so you don't have
to wash your hands so often.
You can broil the frozen hamburges on the WaterBroiler Pan with excellent
results. Also FROZEN Steaks.
Be sure and cook hamburgers WELL DONE. It is NOT SAFE to eat a pink or rare hamburger.
